At a time when holidaymakers are rushing down their first ski slopes, Météo France announces the launch of the new version of its free mobile application for winter sports, Météo Ski.
An application, available on Android and iOS that offers you the best information to enjoy the pleasures of the mountains in winter: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledging, or simply having lunch on the slopes. The application covers 250 stations in all mountain ranges, in France and Andorra.
An application to be delivered for the ski season
It was VISEO's mobile service centre in Toulouse that developed this evolution of the mobile application, published in early December. Three employees of the Toulouse teams have thus attacked the first modifications this autumn with the objective of releasing the Météo Ski application for the ski season. A bet taken!
Anthony Riquelme, VISEO Solutions and Technologies business engineer, describes the major evolutions brought by VISEO on the first version of the application: creation of an interactive map, reorganization of the sections for a more user-friendly use: "From a technical point of view, it was not interesting for us to work from a first version of the application that was not ours and we had no problem with that," he adds.
A broader collaboration
VISEO won a call for tenders at Météo-France in the market for mobile application developments for the whole of 2016, "thanks to the quality of our response on the proposed case study", says Anthony Riquelme.
This is not the end of the collaboration. VISEO also carried out the ergonomics and tablet design part of Météo-France's consumer application, via our digital agency, and also the migration of SDKs for mobile applications "Overseas" and "Cumulus & Co".
