L'Occitane by VISEO

VISEO supports L'Occitane

L'Occitane needed support in redesigning its management processes for its international deployment and to fluidify its supply chain

L'Occitane - VISEO, a relationship that has been ongoing since 2010.

The L'Occitane Group markets natural and organic cosmetics and wellness products worldwide. The merchant now has five brands (L'Occitane in Provence, Melvita, Le Couvent des Minimes, Erborian and L'Occitane in Brazil) and is committed to developing high quality products, rich in natural and organic ingredients with traceable origins, while respecting the environment.

A large-scale digital transformation project

The collaboration began in 2010 with a major business transformation project. L'Occitane en Provence then had a turnover of between 500 and 600 million euros and today it represents more than one billion euros (1.2 billion euros in 2014). With 6,600 employees, the brand has also grown from 600 stores to more than 2,500 in more than 90 countries. "From the inside, we experienced strong growth over six years for a company," says Claire Bourgeon, director of the VISEO Sud-Est agency.

"L'Occitane en Provence called on VISEO because their information system (IS) could not support them in their international development and the company needed to streamline its supply chain," explains Claire Bourgeon. The initial project consisted in building a core model, a deployment kit to industrialize the SAP solution".

VISEO has supported the company in redesigning its processes in major management areas such as finance, manufacturing and distribution. The solution was then deployed in 20 countries around the world. "What was originally planned was for the brand to develop in its subsidiaries around the world, particularly in Great Britain, China and Brazil. We are now deploying in the Nordic countries," Claire Bourgeon explains.

The same is true for our client. "I would say we have a mature relationship. Indeed, L'Occitane has spent the last few years deploying systems in all its international subsidiaries. Now we are no longer in a period where we are going to offer added value to our businesses. These are slightly different solutions, but VISEO is there to support us as well, beyond the massive roll-outs we have been able to do, to bring us real value on innovative solutions, on simplifying our processes and on a better approach to integrating all our systems," explains Alexia Schmitt, Director of Information Systems at L'Occitane en Provence.

VISEO was essential to gain a level-up

"Also, I would define the relationship between L'Occitane en Provence and VISEO as a partnership relationship. We really have the feeling of having a partner in front of us who accompanies us in our projects," says Alexia Schmitt. We have many projects in L'Occitane. We have experienced enormous growth in recent years with a whole implementation of associated systems and VISEO has supported us in this rise to power to define together the best solutions in relation to our context."

Claire Bourgeon, testifies to the company's commitment to the project: "L'Occitane has really put the resources in-house to carry out this project sponsored by the general management, which is present in the pilot projects. We work with dedicated L'Occitane teams and on the VISEO side, they are now consultants from Aix dedicated to the project, both experts on SAP tools and on the cosmetics business, which ensures proximity to their site, which is located near Aix-en-Provence."
